Constable country is a short drive away while the unspoilt seaside towns of Southwold, Walberswick, and Aldeburgh are also a short drive away and well worth a visit. There are many walks from the house over the surrounding countryside and there is even 10-minute walk to the local pub.

There is a riding centre in the village with golf and gliding only a short distance away.

Directions from Hitcham village (B1115) :

Turn down the minor road beside the White Horse public house.  After 100 yds. or so, another, (even smaller), lane branches off on the left hand side.  Turn left, and head up Balls Hill. The driveway to Box Tree Farm is found on your left hand side after approximately ½ a mile.

Directions from Lavenham (A1141) :

Take the A1141 Bury Road heading out of Lavenham.  Turn right just before the old railway bridge at the bottom of the hill, (signposted to Preston & Brettenham), and keep on this road for approximately 2 miles Turn right into the village of Preston St. Mary, and pass completely through the village. Carry on, until a small green triangle with a post box is encountered.  Turn left here, and continue on this lane, (over the little bridge, and around the "z" bend), and through the tiny village of Kettlebaston. After passing through another "z" bend (in a small copse) the drive to Box Tree Farm will be found after approximately ½ a mile on the right hand side.
